The Financial Empowerment Program

The Financial Empowerment Program is for Edmontonians living on a low income. It can help them connect to the resources, education and information needed to reach financial stability and security.

The Financial Empowerment Program consists of social workers who work with community partners to help people living on a low income expand their financial knowledge, reduce debt, grow savings and build assets.

The Financial Empowerment Program is free and confidential and provides the following:

  • A safe, private space to talk about financial challenges and goals

  • Helpful information about financial benefits, subsidies and supports

  • Useful information about basic money management skills needed to make informed financial decisions

  • Referrals to community agencies providing specialized financial information and support services
